Certificate II in Salon Assistant

Certificate II in Salon Assistant covers all essential elements on how to be the salon professional.
This course will prepare you to effectively work as an Assistant in a hairdressing salon where you will work under the direct supervision of a qualified hairdresser.
You will gain the knowledge and skills to support hairdressers in a salon in particular with shampooing, colouring, blow-drying and braiding hair, maintaining hairdressing tools, scheduling appointments, recommending and selling products, and applying workplace health and safety.
Successful students will graduate with a nationally recognised qualification which can be used to seek employment as a Salon Assistant or as a pathway to a hairdressing, beauty or makeup apprenticeship.
This course has Skills SA funding available for eligible students.

Entry requirements
Domestic Students
- There are no mandated entry requirements.
- Eligibility criteria applies for Skills SA –South Australian students and VET for Schools students only
- Applicants must be aged 16 or over.
- Applicants are expected to have literacy and numeracy skills at Year 10 or Australian Core Skills Framework Level 2.
- LLN Assessment to be completed prior to enrolment.

- SA Subsidised Training This training may be subsidised by the SA Government for eligible individuals. Places are limited.
