ITeC Academy, born from the merger of IRT Academy and Illawarra ITeC, represents a union of two esteemed institutions with a shared vision for education and workforce development. Established to meet the evolving needs of industries such as aged care, construction, trades, entertainment, and hospitality, ITeC Academy is committed to fostering sustainable career pathways through quality training and education.
With roots tracing back to its founding in 1988, Illawarra ITeC had established itself as a prominent provider of accredited training across New South Wales, particularly in the Illawarra region. As a not-for-profit organisation, it served a diverse range of clients, including businesses, government agencies, disadvantaged job seekers, youth at risk, individuals with disabilities, and Indigenous communities.
IRT Academy, renowned for its expertise in aged care training, has brought specialised knowledge and nationally recognised qualifications to our new entity. This merger combines the strengths of both organisations, creating a powerhouse Registered Training Organisation (RTO) capable of scaling rapidly to meet industry demands.

ITeC Academy’s SITXFSA005 – Use Hygienic Practices for Food Safety course provides the essential knowledge and skills needed for anyone working in a food handling role. Designed for staff who handle food under supervision, this course is ideal for those employed in cafés, restaurants, canteens, supermarkets, catering businesses, sandwich shops, fast food outlets, or food service areas in hotels and bars.
Whether you’re preparing raw meat, serving ready to eat food, or storing cold food and hot food, you’ll learn how to follow food safety standards and protect your customers from food-borne illnesses. You’ll gain a solid understanding of food hygiene, the importance of personal hygiene (including when and how to wash your hands with soapy water), and how to keep food safe during storage, preparation, and service.

Elevate your career in the food industry with the nationally recognised Food Safety Supervisor Course at ITeC Academy. This comprehensive course provides the skills and knowledge needed to become a certified Food Safety Supervisor, responsible for ensuring safe food handling practices and compliance with food safety laws across various sectors including hospitality, processing, retail, health, and community services.
As a Registered Training Organisation (RTO), ITeC Academy delivers nationally recognised training aligned with the NSW Food Authority’s requirements. This includes all current Food Safety Supervisor Certification standards, plus the official COVID-19 Food Safety Supervisor Training Module mandated for New South Wales.

ITeC Academy’s White Card Wollongong training course is delivered as a face to face training program, where students will be directly supervised to help aid completion during their vocational education experience.
A White Card (General Construction Induction Card) is a mandatory requirement for construction industry workers in Australia. Completing this nationally recognised training means you can access operational construction zones and construction sites. Holding a valid White Card (General Construction Induction Card) means that you have completed official, certified general construction induction training with a registered training organisation within Australia.
White Card is the common name for the ‘Prepare to Work Safely in the Construction Industry CPCCWHS1001′ nationally recognised training.
ITeC is a registered training organisation (RTO) with qualified and experienced trainers so you can be assured this training course will give you comprehensive training in how to prepare to work safely, recognise hazards, safety legislative requirements and risk management .
Applicants deemed competent and upon successful completion of this training course will receive a Statement of Attainment (SoA) and SafeWork NSW Statement of Training. Your White Card won’t expire until you stop working in the construction industry, unless you are not employed for 2+ years in the construction industry – then you will need to complete the course again.
