This carpentry course aims to provide extensive training for carpentry apprentices employed in the housing and industrial construction area. Assessment training will be conducted on the worksite with some practical gap training to be provided on campus using full-size or simulated projects.

There will be extra costs for reference books and materials of approximately $300. Students are required to supply their own basic tools and equipment costing approximately $300. Students need overalls, safety footwear, eye and ear protection, general stationery, reference books and drafting equipment when attending campus.

This course trains you to work with outdoor power equipment, including small engines, mowers, chain saws and trimmers, from theory to hands-on repairs of engine components to occupational health and safety.

The Course in Initial Adult Literacy and Numeracy (22554VIC) is intended to support development of the literacy and numeracy skills of learners with intellectual disabilities. You will gain skills in recognising and using pictures and symbols, reading and writing words, using mathematical symbols and processes, and using time and money.

This apprenticeship course provides the off the-job training component of a metal fabrication apprenticeship in the light/heavy fabrication/welding stream. You will learn the knowledge, skills and applications required to begin a career as a fabrication tradesperson.

The Certificate III in Engineering allows students to enter the shipping and mining industries as a fabrication tradesperson with CAD drafting skills. This course provides the theory component of a metal fabrication apprenticeship in the light/heavy fabrication/welding stream. Learn the knowledge, skills and applications required to begin a career as a fabrication tradesperson. Theory components in structural fabrication, sheetmetal working or boilermaking are also offered. You will undertake the equivalent of one day training per week at TAFE as part of your job. The fourth year is usually spent entirely on the job.
